Rukita Drives Sustainability with 60-Minute Energy-Saving Initiative

Small actions lead to meaningful change when done together. On September 26, 2026, Rukita put this principle into practice by turning off communal lighting across its buildings for one hour to mark World Ozone Day (celebrated every September 16).

From 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., lights in communal areas across more than 2,600 Rukita properties were switched off simultaneously. Through its vast network, Rukita fostered a unified moment to raise energy awareness, lower carbon emissions, and contribute to environmental protection.

Turning One Hour Into Measurable Impact

The initiative may have lasted only 60 minutes, but its impact was measurable. By switching off communal-space lights across its network during the one-hour period, Rukita contributed to an estimated reduction of 4.08 metric tonnes of carbon emissions.

Rukita’s Operations and Security teams remained on standby throughout the one-hour initiative. Emergency lighting in evacuation routes and essential areas also remained active to ensure that residents could move around the property safely.

This balance reflects an important principle in Rukita’s ESG approach: environmental initiatives should not come at the expense of people’s well-being.
