Rukita Transforms Railway Underpass in Cikini into a Proper Futsal Court for the Community

Part of Rukita’s CSR commitment to healthier and more inclusive public spaces.

As a pioneer in modern coliving and property management in Indonesia, Rukita continues to show its dedication to community development through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs. This time, Rukita has revitalized an unused area beneath the railway bridge in Cikini, Menteng, Central Jakarta, turning it into a clean, well-maintained futsal court that locals can enjoy.

The site located directly under the railway bridge on Jalan Anyer, Cikini Menteng was previously in poor condition, cluttered with trash, and unsafe to use. Driven by a spirit of collaboration, Rukita Tribe (the term for Rukita employees) joined forces to take part in cleaning and upgrading the space.

Before Restoration

Key improvements include fixing leaks and damaged areas on the court, clearing debris, repairing the access road, refreshing the communal space, and adding a vibrant mural to create an inviting atmosphere.

“This initiative is our way of giving back to the community and part of Rukita’s long-term commitment to support healthy, safe, and inclusive public spaces,” said Sarah Soewatdy, COO & Founder of Rukita. “We’re thrilled to see residents now have a proper space to play and interact together.”

This revitalization also aligns with Rukita’s latest expansion in the Menteng area. The company is currently developing a new coliving residence on Jalan Bojonegoro, just steps away from the newly improved court. This project falls under Rukita’s Build-to-Rent service, where Rukita partners with property owners to transform land or buildings into fully managed coliving and lifestyle residences.

After Restoration

The proximity of this upcoming property further motivated Rukita to make a positive contribution to the surrounding neighborhood. “This is our first CSR program focusing on revitalizing a public sports facility. In the future, we’re open to similar initiatives in other public spaces near our coliving properties that need attention,” Sarah added.

The new futsal court is expected to become a safe and positive place for the community, especially children and teenagers to engage in sports and social activities. For Rukita, sustainable growth goes beyond infrastructure, it’s about creating spaces that bring real social impact. The company is committed to rolling out similar initiatives in more cities across Indonesia.

Since its founding in 2019, Rukita has earned the trust of over 1,300 property owners to turn their assets into productive and profitable rental homes. Today, Rukita manages properties in 21 major cities across Indonesia, housing more than 50,000 residents every year.
